    Beo 5 and Samsung 3d plasma - I need help !

    Hi,

I am very happy that I have just joined this forum of the B&O users and fans  . I have just purchased a beo5 for my B&O Beosound 9000.

I would be so grateful if Keith, that is doing such a wonderful job here, could help me in programming my Beo5 for the 3rd party Samsung 3D plasma TV. I found some codes for it on the lintronic site and I  post them below:

A Very Warm Welcome to Beoworld..

The Protocol used by these Samsung Plasma TV's is a modified NEC protocol which repeats the signal twice for every button press.

Because of the number of different combinations of remote commands for Samsung TV's I have made an XML for all the common commands

The XML file HERE includes the common commands and the hard keys and digits are pre-assigned, so all you need to do is drag-n-drop without doing any modification.

The XML file is contained in a ZIP file which should be extracted to C:\ and then it will automatically be placed in the correct directory of the B&O Configuration Tool.

Let us all know how it works on your TV..

    Regards Keith....

    Hello Keith,

My Plasma Samsung works. You are the best Keith ! thank you so much !!!!

I would like to ask you one more question ! I don't not know why sometimes when I make changes in my Beo5 with the ConfigTool the battery becomes empty instantly even it was fully charged overnight. I am just wonderring if there is a malfunction inside my Beo5 or... ?

    What should I do ?

    Many thanks in advance !!

Thank you for your feedback and I am pleased your Samsung Plasma is working.

With regards to the Beo5 battery being empty, there could be many reasons for that.

Whilst the Beo5 could have a fault is actually very unlikely to be the cause.

The most likely causes of this type of problem are often cause when you have captured a 3rd party IR codes and made an XML file, but one or more of the codes is not quite correct and usually the last binary digit is left as a "1" meaning the transmitting diode is left on all the time.

Also if you every press a button and the button stays triggered and you have to power down / reset the Beo5 then you have certainly got the problem I highlight above.

    Regards Keith....

Do you mean this happens while you are changing the configurations connected to the PC rather than after everyday use on the mains charger?.

When I used to program my BEO5 I would find that even though it was fully charged, if I connected to my PC and made a few changes, the battery would go flat very fast and I'd have to do a long recharge on the mains before I could re-connect to the PC and make any more changes. Even though it shows as "charging" while connected to the PC it seemed the battery depleted 10 times faster than it charged up. Even leaving overnight on the PC did not chare it enough, whereas an hour on the mains charger was enough.

Things seem far better now that I'm using Config Tool 5.12 and it doesn't seem to deplete the battery so fast when I'm programming. I can try numerous updates before the battery depletes now.

    Stoobie.
