2 x Problems - BL4000 speaker 'clicking' and Beolink Passive given up!

    Hi folks,

Perhaps someone could help me in one of two ways:

    1) Provide contact info for someone to do investigation / repair of B&O in Gloucester / Bristol area or

    2) Provide some insight on the two (unrelated) problems that have emerged in the last couple of weeks.

The first is with a BL4000 speaker.  One of the pair (other is fine) having been installed for the last 6 yrs and working fine, has decided to switch on /off very fast half a dozen times, have a rest for a random period (10 secs - 15 mins) and then have another on/off fit.  Only way to cure is to remove power which solves one problem but does not make for a great listening experience - any thoughts?

The other problem relates to our Beolink passive.  It shows a red led indicating it has power, both on the unit and the IR receiver but will not respond to any remote input to turn on.  I have spoken to local dealer who arranged for someone to phone me (left voicemail but I pressed '3' delete not '2' save so have lost contact number but essentially message was 'we can repair by replacing main board, £230+VAT' which seems a little steep to me without even trying to understand fault.  Again, any thought?

Best regards and thanks in advance for any pearls of wisdom.

    Simon

    SVB:

The best way to see if its a speaker or wiring problem is to swop speakers over. If the problem stays on the same side its the wiring, if the problem stays with the switched speaker its the speaker.( I would suspect the wiring at joints if any)
    SVB:
The other problem relates to our Beolink passive.
Just to eliminate the most obvious, have you checked the batteries in the remote? Check the battery terminals in the remote for battery leakage

    Hi,

Thanks for the thoughts but no joy on either I'm afraid.  Problem follows the speaker and remote fine (+ I have tried to operate via buttons on IR unit with no joy + have swapped with another passive in house and problem follows unit).

    Any other ideas anyone?
