Re: RL60.2 Refurb Collaboration
Peter :
I don't think it has been moderated - I cannot get that link to work.
Sorry Peter, but I've placed a new thread in the General section regarding this question. You may delete this thread if you can.
Still I don't know why this is? Will give it a new try if I may just to seen what happens!

Re: RL60.2 Refurb Collaboration
Link worked for me.
The tweeter looks like a classic Vifa unit. I made a pair of two-ways using that tweeer and an 8" Vifa woofer back in the 1980s. The second ex-Mrs. Rich got those speakers in the divorce.

Yep! I remember those! Hard to forget...
EDIT: One thing I just noticed, perhaps making them even more memorable - are those cloth frets? The originals were aluminum, right?

Re: RL60.2 Refurb Collaboration
I had the same idea doing it wit a complete set (Beosystem 2500) but it looks a bit strange seeing it in another color other then black. Shall I give it a try, got plenty of those Maybe not in white... Any suggestions? Maybe in a sophisticated two color version?

No, the first version (MK1?) is cloth, the latest with aluminium which looks superior. Have those in several colors but unfortanetely not the conversion kit to put those on a MK1.

Re: RL60.2 Refurb Collaboration
Hmmmm....
Well it is hard to best the original blue fret / black body combo. Are you referring to a two-tone method?
I'm thinking it will be pretty hard to go beyond a neutral color for the body...
Initial ideas, orange frets / dark gray body... I'm sure I'll come up with a few more with time.

That's one of my Beovox M70s. The deal I made with my wife was she got to pick out the fret cloth (as long as it was acoustically transparent, which this cloth is). I got to put my main system in the dining room.
This was before my trip to JaffBay. The main system got much bigger after I went to JaffBay.

Sorry.
Forum member "Burantek," whose real name is Jeff, goes by "Jaff" on the Wednesday Thread. (I believe because Andy is a poor typist - but that's another story.)
I had been chasing BM4000s and BM4400s on Ebay, plus I wanted a 1970's era tangential turntable. One day Jeff told me I needed to get in my car "and drive on up to JaffBay" and he'd sell me some gear. So that's what we did.
There's an entire thread called "JaffBay Was Open."
I guess you could say "JaffBay" is Jeff's house.

Re: RL60.2 Refurb Collaboration
Leslie,
Update; Can you be a little more specific on just how one should properly package
and transport a beocenter 9500. I've been asked too give the represenative a call
believe it or not regarding the price I was going too bid which was going too be
almost half of what they listed! I was very straight by e-mail and played it coy and
respective but said I didn't want too insult her client or jepordize a future possible
purchase offline while arranging a follow-up directly...that seemed to work! She
said..."Alright Todd call me Monday and lets talk! Now they admit too marks on the
9500 but I won't know the degree or just how much on the aluminum panels till we
talk so...we shall see! Need Your Advice Sir"

1. Dont by "offline", you will have no protection what so ever.
2. Get photos of all damages, and get a guarantie that the unit works, and is not repaired upon before.
3. DONT BUY OFFLINE.
Buying on the bay is a mather of trust, I allways ask for more photos if needed, I ask questions about tests, shipping and packing, and if my gut tells me dont or do, I do or dont, trust your gut feelings. If they want to sell to you for half price offline, something is wrong.

Re: RL60.2 Refurb Collaboration
Well Todd, I can only advise you to ask him/her to do the packing like I did with my BC9000 for my pal Spiros. It arrived the journey safely to Greece. Just follow this link on my Picasa webalbum. There is one transportation screw for the CD which is located underneath the unit that has to be tightened. I will let this link open for a week so maybe you could send her this to show how it has to be done!
Good luck!

"My appologies Soren & Everybody" Bad verbager use in haste while I was trying too do business at the same time posting."I'm Am Not
buying offline." Come monday after the last 5-6 days prior to today the representative and I have been e-mailing ea. other back and forth
to the point that come monday we may be entering pre-direct negotiations and hopefully come too a satisfied agreement but She and I both
have stated we have too abide by ebay rules and reg's...1). she and I both could loose our right too sell on ebay if we do not do the sell
on ebay! The listing ended yesterday 14th! That is the reason I'm attempting too carry on direct dialogue w/rep cause they are delisting but
she has already agreed that if we come too mutual agreement we will both abide by ebay rules and she does extend a 100% gurarantee!

"Thanks Leslie, I just took a look at your link and thats the way to do it! I also went back to the ebay e-mail I have of the 9500 listing; Rep
states packaging too be determined after our agreement and if I want Professional Packaging that the price will include that factor. I will
require! So I will be discussing all these points monday. I will be sending that link...Thanks'

Re: RL60.2 Refurb Collaboration
"OH trust me they haven't cut too half price. I haven't even bided or verbalized a
price to'em until I talk w/Rep Monday. The e-bay listing for sale ended yesterday
since they got no listed bids; I don't know about private bids." They seem to be
willing too hear what my low bid is and counter; I mean the rep e-mailed me and
invited me too call monday and talk so we'll see.
