BM5/BS5 don't go "powersave mode" anymore?

I have experienced for a while that my BS5 is alway "awake". When I turn it on it is ready to select/play music in 1-2 seconds even though its been in standby for some time. Normally it takes about 8-10 seconds before it is ready to be used if it has been in standby for some minutes.

Any body have the same change. Is it an update?

Does it still go in "low power consumption mode" (standby)?

It seen like it now works like selecting "sleep mode" on WIN7!

    Cheers

    Hello Henrik,

Do you have the bs connected to the LAN by Wire or by WLAN adaptor ??

Power Save is disabled if you use a WLAN Stick....

Its connected via LAN (hard wire), and I haven't changed anything on my hardware setup, but my BS just stopped going to powersave mode!

I had the same problem some time ago. I just set BM5 to standby manually, via the switch on the back, disconnected it from mains for a minute and started again. Now the BM5 is going to standby mode again.

    Hello Hendrik,

i found some information about the latest SW-Relase (6.02), where the automatic diableing of the supsend mode in the SW 6.01 was reactivated....but not automatic changed

    Solution (translated from German)

Open Service Menu, to change the settings of the suspend-mode:
SYSTEM SETTINGS – POWER SAVING – OFF.
    Good luck, this should work

I wonder, since the BM5 can be used as UPNP server, does this then mean that the BM5 always will be up running? Or are there any Wake On Lan on BM5?

    There is something about B&O.....

2x yes. If you activate UPNP server on BM5 it will stay up running, and yes, there is a Wake on Lan. My BM5 wakes up, when I start Parallels on my Macbook, which activates WIN XP and Beoplayer automatically. Beoplayer will be automatically connected to BM5.

Re: BM5/BS5 don't go "powersave mode" anymore?

Thx for the help. I will try to deactivate UPNP server on BM5 to make it go into sleep mode. The deactivation of "pawersave" or restart of BM5 didn't help, so I guess UPNP serve has to be turned of. It use to wake up ie. if I turned on my PC with Beoplayer. Now its alway "awake".

I'm not going to be home for some weeks, but hope it will work!

I have the same problem and no solution at all ?? For me, the menu or unplug the power didn't work.

If someone find the way to activated the sleep mode, please tell us how you have done.

I found a solution yesterday, in service menu, Service Settings - Music Server -  NO.

Re: BM5/BS5 don't go "powersave mode" anymore?

Thx Hackel for the solution, but.

It worked for a couple of weeks, and now the problem is there again. "Music server" selected off, "power save" is "automatic" which solved the problem last time, but now it started not going to "power save mode" without me changing any thing. There is no change to my BS5/BM5 setup or other network in my house. How can this suddenly change without any action from me and with the same seting??? Any body experience the same?

    Hmmm. problem solved.

Power off, and reboot BM5 and the problem is solved. It seems like BM5 og Win XP is not that stable and needs reboot once in a while.
