Never heard of CX 1000, but if you mean CX 100 try here.

Measure your surrounds, order more than you need, check the forum on how to, and dont forget to change caps in your crossovers.

This thread is from a member that was was refoaming his CX50s and 100s and shared his experience and was kind enough to write a brief guide.

    Replacement cones are not necessary.

Just buy some new foam rings from Good HiFi (based in Netherlands), they send you the required glue with brush applicator (similar to a Tippex bottle), all for just a few quid. Find them listing on ebay or google 'good hi fi'

Remove the frets from the speaker, clean off the old rotten foams, then relace with the new ones, applying the glue to both surfaces (around the ring edge and around the cone edge). Find a glass or cup with the correct size rim to use as a weight to press the new foams down and ensure the glue bonds nicely.

You dont even need to remove the cones from the CX100 housing. I did a pair a few months ago, cones in situ. They play like new now.

I think Good HiFi have posted a video on their site demonstrating someone replacing a foam ring.

    Regards.

    Michael
