Mk2 is a lot thicker than Mk1 and Mk3.  Mk1 is thin with no triangle on the plugs end, Mk3 is thin with a triangle on the plug end, and Mk2 has no triangle but is almost twice as thick as Mk1 and Mk3.

    Confused?

MK1 is the original thin cable with blue, green and yellow strands which was supplied with most Active speakers.

MK2 cable is thicker as it has all 8 pins connected.  This was used for the original active speakers that had displays such as PentaLab.

MK3 (with the triangle) is not as thick as fully wired Poewrlink.  It has an extra earth cable (blue).  Some of the newer active speakers such as BeoLab3 need this extra earth or they buzz.

Thanks for the explanation.  Can you add how IR cable/pin layout is different from powerlink? Thanks.  Ray

its a tricky one to describe without you having both in your hands, i ended up buying both types even with the above info, now i know by just looking as ive seen each so many times, im hoping these photos help in the same way

i cant guarantee they come out actual size but it may help

p.s im not sure the small triangle thing is true every time, my mark3 dont have any

oh before i forget, the thinner one is mk3 and the thicker is mk2

    Hi Ray,

are you looking for something like this http://www.beoworld.org/beotech/ir_eye_wiring.htm ?
There are however different IR eyes available, others only have 5 connectors inside. And the IR connector of a Beolink Passive is a DIN connector and also carries signals for the LEDs and the buttons of the IR eye. This connector also carries power supply for the IR eye. It´s totally different from a powerlink connector!

Thanks for that answer and for this thread.  Very beneficial.  When I become emperor, everything will be plug and play, and with one single-strand cable.

Re: Powerlink MK II vs MK III ??

1.Beolab A/B powered speakers= Powerlink MK I, MK II, MKIII  will work fine then?

2.And Beolab Ice-powered speakers= just Powerlink MK III nothing else!

3.Powerlink MK II= Is the same as "Fully loaded" powerlink?

4.But the MKIII for BL A/B powered speaker would sound greater because the extra blue grondwire? Less distortion and pink nois?

    Powerlink MK III

    PowerLink MK III. Cable connection.
Print billedet ud, det er en stor hjælp når du står med loddekolben.

Her er 0 leder og skærm loddet sammen på RCA bøsningen.

Det mangler nogle forklaringer, find dem her.

    http://peecee.dk/uploads/0107/mit-icepower500asp-datasheeet. pdf

    Her finder man også:

ICEpower ASP 500, har en powerdown-feature.

Det er ben 3 på connectoren "P2". Det beskrives hvordan man kan aktivere denne feature, på side 17 i databladet for 500ASP.

Se det på datablad for ICEpower500ASP i pdf file her

Når det aktiveres, lukker ICEpower modulet øjeblikkelig ned, og man undgår evt. blobs i højtaleren.
