MK1 is the original thin cable with blue, green and yellow strands which was supplied with most Active speakers.
MK2 cable is thicker as it has all 8 pins connected. This was used for the original active speakers that had displays such as PentaLab.
MK3 (with the triangle) is not as thick as fully wired Poewrlink. It has an extra earth cable (blue). Some of the newer active speakers such as BeoLab3 need this extra earth or they buzz.

its a tricky one to describe without you having both in your hands, i ended up buying both types even with the above info, now i know by just looking as ive seen each so many times, im hoping these photos help in the same way
i cant guarantee they come out actual size but it may help
p.s im not sure the small triangle thing is true every time, my mark3 dont have any

Thanks for that answer and for this thread. Very beneficial. When I become emperor, everything will be plug and play, and with one single-strand cable.

1.Beolab A/B powered speakers= Powerlink MK I, MK II, MKIII will work fine then?
2.And Beolab Ice-powered speakers= just Powerlink MK III nothing else!
3.Powerlink MK II= Is the same as "Fully loaded" powerlink?
4.But the MKIII for BL A/B powered speaker would sound greater because the extra blue grondwire? Less distortion and pink nois?
Here i have used PowerLink MK II direct to XLR.
