    B&O TECH NEED'S HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hello all,

I'm new here so please bare with me, i'm a B&O technician so I no my b&o but i'm having severe difficulties using the "xml generator" to control 3rd party equipment, i'm just totally lost and i've been trying for days now with no idea of how to use it. I am authorised with b&o so I have a genuine login with the configuration tool. I have read over posts and instructions but just does not make sense.

Basically I have recently sold my beovision 7 and beosound 3200 and i'm now left with my non b&o equipment with my beo 5.

Any help will be very very very appreciated and hopefully I can repay any advice given with my knowledge of b&o products, the only thing I will not do is get pin-codes or master-codes!!!!!!!!

    plese please somebody helpUnsure

    Gary,

A very warm welcome to Beoworld..

Firstly, can I suggest you review the Beo5 web pages HERE which I am in the process of updating.

Given you have downloaded the "XML Generator" I am assuming you have a Lintronic box which you have captured all the 3rd party codes with, can you please confirm ?

What 3rd party products are you trying to control with the Beo5 ?

    Regards Keith....

    Gary,

For three of your 3rd party products I have already produced XML files.

If you can find Pronto HEX codes at remote central HERE I have a software package I wrote (not XML Generator) which will convert them into Beo5 XML files.

    Regards Keith....

Thanks for help Keith but i've had no luck in finding the hex files,  i think the best thing is to buy one of these contraptions that reads the ir coding of my products, it would be helpfull if you could point me in the right direction?

    Re: B&O TECH NEED'S HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Gary,

I have converted all the Pronto HEX codes for the Onkyo TXSR-700 you found on the Remote Central web site and made a XML file for it with all the hard keys pre-assigned. You can download the XML file HERE which you should extract from the ZIP file to C:\ which will automatically put the file into the correct directory of the Beo5 Configuration Tool.

I also converted the Virgin Media V+ PUC file to an XML file for you to test which you can download HERE

I have previously produced two different Apple TV XML files. The first has the hard keys pre-assigned and can be downloaded HERE and the second provides a repeat function which can be downloaded HERE

    Regards Keith....

    Re: B&O TECH NEED'S HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Gary,

Thank you for your kind feedback Embarrassed

I do not sell, licence or distribute my software and it is ONLY on my system. I developed the software about a year after the introduction of the Beo5 to create working "Drag-n-Drop" 3rd party XML files which have the digits and hard keys pre-assigned because even today the B&O Beo5 Configuration Tool falls well short of requirements when it comes to third party products.

The software can use Lintronic timing output, any Pronto HEX codes, convert from any PUC entry, from directly entered RC5 or NEC codes and directly capture from an original remote in real time using an IR receiver connected to a USB port.

The Beoworld 3rd Party XML Generator is more limited and can only convert Lintronic timings to RAW or RC5 codes from manually entered data. It does not pre-assign any hard keys and as it only uses RAW which is an image copy of the original means it cannot handle repeat function used by many remotes. So, to use the XML Generator other than for manually entered RC5 codes requires you to purchase a Lintronic box and you can find more details HERE

The problem for many members is if they just want to capture one or two remotes the purchase of the Lintronic box is an expensive option unless it will be used for controlling something else subsequently.

    Regards Keith....

    Re: B&O TECH NEED'S HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okie Dokie, thanks for all your help.

How much do you charge to program beo 5's?

i'm still having so many problems programming the remote lol.

basically the sony trinitron codes i got work as much as turning my sony lcd on but it always switches it on to terrestrial 1 instead of hdmi 1 and there is no code for hdmi1 with the trinitron codes

The virgin media does not work i dont think the virgin + commands are working my standard samsung virgin media box, i would have thought the power on, off would have been the same?

These are not Pronto codes, its an Excel file with Command codes. On this site HERE is where you will find all the Pronto HEX codes available
