    Wireless music on older systems

I have no idea about wireless stuff really (airport express etc) but would love to connect my computer up to my hi fi. Would it be possible to connect airpot express or equivelent to an 80's Beomaster 6000 or my Avant. This might be a stupid question but I really have no idea!

Are you a mac or pc guy? Do you already have a wireless network for computing? Do you use iTunes?

Not a problem at all to a BeoMaster or Avant.

You will need to purchase a mini-> (2) rca lead or din to aux to connect for audio.

You could also go the Apple TV route with the Avant. You would then use straight rca leads to rgb video / rw audio. (UK: scart adapter?)

Here is a thread establishing an express in an existing mac network.

In short, yes, but you will also need the appropriate cable.

As far as iPhone control, you will need to dload the remote app.

Mac or PC?  I assume you are running iTunes?

Richard - I have a Beomaster 900M in my home office connected to an Airport Express that I use with both our Mac laptops. All you need is an iPod to B&O cable to run from the 3.5mm phones jack on the Airport Express to the Beomaster, and a computer capable of streaming wirelessly to the Airport Express base station. It does help if you have a Mac, as the integration is pretty much seamless.

If your main interest is in radio rather than downloading via iTunes etc then  a wireless Roku/Pinnacle unit gives access to thousands of stations. In my case I have a unit connected to a Beomaster 1200 via the tape DIN socket. The cable came from an eBay seller and was wired for the purpose.
