Re: BeoSound 6 first picture and details
wow thanks for the picture. I agree with the others it doesn't seem very B&O'ish, but let's wait and see when more pictures appear. It's great that Beoworld has their own little scouts to find these pictures. P.S. notice those nasty nails :o)

Re: BeoSound 6 first picture and details
Does not look too bad. As some have said a bit like a Steel ipod. Would be interested to see it in the flesh so to speak. Any idea of when we might see this? Craig

At £400 I could have my Nano gold plated! Hmmm, what to do...?

Re: BeoSound 6 first picture and details
I think the design of this player bears really nothing extraordinary that could associate it with B&O. It could be made by just any producer... I am glad I have my Beosound 2 and wouldn't swap it for this new product.

Re: BeoSound 6 first picture and details
It's perfect in my opinion. For all of those who can't deal with the BeoSound 2 which is the most NON iPod mp3 player available. It will fill the void well, i would love to get one, as love the ipod, i just don't love the sound.

Re: BeoSound 6 first picture and details
Well, it’s difficult to quite disagree with many opinions here, of course…Then again, what we are talking here about (a product concept based on relatively ripe technology) is now hardly new, available to consumers as myriads of various makes and product versions … in other words quite a B&O domain to try and take it further in certain areas and offer their own version – after BS2.
For me, it’s basically about an ideal interface between the listener/user and his/her music stored (copied) as a matrix of information on mobile media - when/if needed. Given the anatomy of average human body (fingers, eyes, ears etc) plus our ability to comprehend through our senses when we retrieve and enjoy that information and, of course, while storing it, I can’t see any revolution should have been coming. (Still can’t figure out if controls based on voice recognition – or mind reading – wouldn’t do better, though!? )
- Outstanding sound quality - outstanding built quality - integration with rest of one’s B&O stuff - easiness to operate (without features we don’t really need) - appropriate B&O design - reasonable future orientation
That’s how I will judge IT and the pic above looks promising. I love my BS2, but it’s being used mostly by my wife during some sports activities. (It’s BBQ season so I enjoy my BS3). It will be interesting to compare BS2 and the new device at home, as far as I’m concerned…

Re: BeoSound 6 first picture and details
I can imagine that those 4Gb delivered are in built in memory (or is a card as BS2 had?), so before talking about capacity, it will be essential to know if this new BS6 can use/read some type of memory card or if it's really a closed device as Ipods are.

Re: BeoSound 6 first picture and details
First of all: I like it. I can't really understand why so many of us complain about this BS6 looking like an iPod while that's what everybody was waiting for: a B&O player that could compete with the iPod. (the BS2 sure plays in another league). I like the look of this new device, the only thing that I dislike is the memory size of only 4Gb.

Looks like all those standard mp3-players you can already buy in the shops. Especially it looks like they did it again with Samsung: http://www.abcelectronique.com/comparateur/image_son/audio/baladeur_mp3/baladeur_mp3_usb/photos/yp_z5fqb_2_go_samsung.jpg

Ups, you could be right. Let's just hope the inner life will not be the semblable to the Samsung player!

another nice joint venture with an 80% design analogy to the samsung's mp3 player.
