Being a new member to Beoworld i have a LX2800 tv which will switch on to standby only and has no remote, though i have a remote with the LX2500 which works with it. Is it repairable?, is it worth repairing?. Or should i just scrap it.

It is almost certainly not worth repairing in fiscal terms unless the problem is simple and you can fix it yourself. B&O CRT televisions are very cheap at the moment and will probably continue to be so. On eBay you can buy similar working televisions for <£30. Although for how long they will remain working is obviously an unknown.

If the televison has sentimental or nostalgic value then you could of course repair it. I often do this with old computers just because it gives me something to do but this obviously does not make economic sense.

Lovely TV's but not really worth spending money on as you can easily buy a much better LX on ebay for far less than the repair bill would be.

eg:- a few weeks ago I bought a mint LX5500 with motorised stand, beolink 1000 remote & VX7000 video player/recorder for the grand sum of £32. I absolutely love it but if it broke down there's no way I'd spend money getting it repaired - just not worth it. It sounds like a power supply problem but I'm no expert, member nobby may be able to help as he's the CRT expert on here.
