    Beomaster 2400-2 tuning problem

I am thinking that this is going to be an easy fix but here goes...

I have a 2400 which is tuning several mhz below where it should be; For example 100.4mhz tunes in at around 105mhz. normaly you would think it is the selector not aligned correctly with the actual tuner but this strange symptom also holds true for the presets! Any help greatly apreciated.

    Cheers,

Both the dial & the presets work together in this respect. Probably the tuning voltage setting is incorrect. I took a look in the service manual, and it looks like a straightforward job with a multimeter and a couple of trimpots on the preset board. Having never opened any of these units, I can't tell how much work it is to actually get there...

If this doesn't help, the tuner front end might need adjustments, but you don't want to touch that without proper equipment.

Not too tricky to take apart but more difficult to put back together!! If you do end up taking it apart, replace the red capacitors and I dare say that the variable resistors mentioned may also disintegrate so they may well need replacing as well! Dillen does a kit for this model.

Easy enough to do and I was able to get 4R3 to 4.5 volts but I could only get 4R2 to 2.9 volts. Any suggestions?
