Beosound 9000 type 2571 - which mk is this?

    Hi

I'm looking at a used Beosound 9000 with type number 2571, I don't know the year or SW version on this model yet.

I think it's from 2001 but want to know if this is a mk II or mk III and what are the main different between the mk II and III?

When I search the forum, I can see that one guy here have a type 2571 and he said that it's a mkIII with pin code protection, but if I look at the Beoworld Product guide it looks like that the mk III first starts from type 2572 and forward?

    this is what I found:

So what's the difference between the different BeoSound 9000 versions?

The MK I model is not upgradeable for N-Music

The MK II model is upgradeable

The MK III has a different CD mechanism and PIN code security. The glass plate has also undergone several updates as the earlier ones tended to come

    Types:
    Mark 1: 2522, Mark 2: 2562, Mark 3: 2572

what is correct? I'm a bit confused

Also the deal is with a pair of Beolab 8000, but I have no clue how old they are, can this be see from a type lable or something?

    Thanks

    Regards Anders

Re: Beosound 9000 type 2571 - which mk is this?

I think the last digit of the four is country specific. I think all mk III are 257x.

Just checked: Mine is a 2571, and it is definitely mk III!

    You're welcome Smile

You find the type no. under the panel with the buttons (betjeningspanelet bag lågen...). It lifts off and is held in one end by hinges and magnets in the other end - where there is a "hole" for a finger.

    Type 2521 - 2531 = MK1

    Type 2561 - 2570 = MK2

    Type 2571 - 2580 and 2592 = MK3

Re: Beosound 9000 type 2571 - which mk is this?

    Thanks guys

It's nice to get this help so fast, I can now tell the guy that the deal should be safe and considered a done deal. Then I can look into the SW version later on, maybe it's just fine as it's now. I will see the serial number tomorrow on the BL8000, so that might give me an idea which model. I still don't know if I will keep them as rear spearkers or sell them to fund a pair of BL3

    Again Thanks guys

    Hi Guys

Some new info - bad or good I can't tell.

I have a question about 2.nd hand B&o product with PIN code protection.!

Is't all good, if I only get a copy of the invoice or is it necessary to get hold of the original invoice, regarding future problems with PIN code issues or some other problems? One other thing that I think is odd, on the invoice there is only stated which product sold to the buyer, the serial number is not on the invoice, only the PIN code for the Beosound 9000.

    I got the serial numbers:

    Beosound 9000:

    Type 2571

    SN:1803xxxx

    SW: 3.3

    Beolab 8000:

    Type: 6801

    SN: 1804xxxx

So as far I can tell the BL8000 should be the newer upgraded version, so thats nice:

"The changes are implemented form serial 16992475 onwards"

    Thanks

    Regards Anders

Congratulations on your purchase. I love my BS9000, and I am sure you will also.
