I recently moved to Australia and was unable to make my Danish Beocom 6000 work so I splashed out on an interely new system with the (to me) new Beoline transmitter. I hooked everything up earlier and got as far as to the handset finding the base. After the handset has tried to connect with the base for 30-40 seconds it returns "Software Update Needed" and switches off.
I connect to the Internet through a cable connection so I do not have a PTSN line in the house. I purchased a Linksys Broadband Router (WRT54GP2) with two phone ports (wireless disabled) connected to a AirTunes Express wireless router and have used a daggy old Phillips 2.4GhZ cordless phone until receiving my B&O which worked just fine (although sometimes the connection was rather weak, if someone has any ideas on how I can make that better with the new phone that would be a great bonus).
Is this a common problem that can be resolved by taking the handset to the store for a software update or do I need to change my setup in order for the phone to work?
