Seems like a very good buy to me. Well I would be very happy if I had paid that price anyway. In answer to your second question I think it will only work with the MCP 5000 and Terminal 5000 remotes. Craig

Craig's answer is correct. The MCP5000 and Terminal 5000 are the only remotes that operate the Beosystem 5000. You also need the MCL82 if you wish to extend the system to more rooms, rather than the MCL2. Brian

If you can get one. There was a unit which allowed you to control a Beosystem 5000 with a BL1000. These are however very rare, I have only ever seen one on Ebay in the last 4 Years or so. Peter has one, not sure if it works two way though. Craig

Yes, Beo4/5/5000 & 7000 will all work. What I don't know is if they will work in two-way or one-way only. From what I have seen of the unit it uses the MCL connections to control the Beomaster. Craig

Yes, that's correct - you connect the ir converter to the mcl connections when used with a bs5000 or a bc7700/7007. When used with a bm6000/8000, an ir blaster is used. I guess it's only one-way. I actually bid on an auction for an IR converter a couple of weeks ago. The seller obviously thought it was a normal link kit (mcl2a), so it went quite cheap. Unfortunately I forgot to place a bid. GRRR!

Thats the one Andy, I think it works on most systems that had a non BL1000 remote. Craig

jandyt:Craig, the one Peter bought to Manchester for us to 'guess' was for controlling the BM8000 I think. Don't know if it's the same as the 5000 codes. Andy T.
It's the same converter, you configure it (choosing between bs5000/bc7700/bm8000/bm6000) by adjusting some jumpers inside the unit.

....mr anders(son):
Mr Andesson, when buying on Lauritz, don't forget the 20% commission. 2400+20% Commission=2880 SEK ≈ 312 € Still a good deal i think!

If you PM me with your e-mail address, I can send you the manuals for the BM5000 and CD50. Sorry I don't have any of the others you need. Craig
