    DVD2 and MX7000

Hi, my dealer told me that the DVD2 didn't work with the MX7000. It would however work with a MX8000.

Is this true? If so, what's missing in the MX7000?

    /Peter

It is true I am afraid. No idea of the exact reason but the only MX models that will work are the 8000 and the 4200 because these use the BV1 chassis rather than the original MX one.

    OK, that's a pity.

The number of MX7000s out there must be huge, compared to the MX8000s.

I agree with you.  I would however not be too disappointed! The DVD2 is not all I would have hoped for!

    Re: DVD2 and MX7000

What i don't understand is that if the MX7000 doesn't work with DVD2,
why B&O lists this combination in the Config Guide.

Could it be that the DVD2 only works with the MX7000IT and MX7000 Beo4 ?
(and not with the first MX7000 2-way-version)

    Beovision MX 7000 IT
    DVD 2

If the BeoVision it is type 78xx, it must be equipped with SW 3.13 or higher.
    Order No. 8343694
If, however, it is type 87xx, the BeoVision must be equipped with SW 4.5 or higher.
    Order No. 8343636

    Beovision MX 7000 Beo4
    DVD 2
BeoVision must be equipped with SW 2.12 or higher. Order No. 8343703

Peter, is it the DVB-T tuner you miss? Or what else where you hoping for?

    Hi Ignace.

If it was delivered with Beo4 as the remote, does that mean it is a MX7000 Beo4?

What remote did the older two-way MX7000s use? Beolink 5000?

    What is a MX7000 IT?

    Best Regards Peter

IT = Improved Teletext. The very first MX7000s would use a Beolink 5000.

I don't like the DVD2 much because it doesn't integrate as well as it should. The HDR2 seems a more sensible device - I would personally get one of those and a cheap Panasonic DVD-R to archive the few recordings I wanted to keep.

    Re: DVD2 and MX7000

Thanks Peter, you really are fast!

I'm examing the available options for my father.

What he searches for is a replacement for his V8000.

Maybe he could even go for a used HDR1. Estetically that is a better match to the MX7000 than the DVD2.
