    Beo 5 + non B&O equipment

    Hi,

    did anybody manage to get the Beo 5 to work with non B&O equipment?

    It rather depends on what you mean by non B&O. It works with Lutron equipment but that uses B&O codes. The Beo5 is not yet able to operate other equipment as the software is not enabled. Yet!

    Thanks Peter. I mean by non B&O the products which are not manufatured by B&O i.e. HD DVD player from Toshiba for instance.

    You need a b&o DVD controller for that or a oneremote scartcable. beo5 will never be able to control that directly

    In the French forum, someone said the dealer said the Beo5 can already be sent back to the factory to activate 3rd party product.

    To take with a pinch of salt.

    The statement made in the french forum is basicly correct, but it all depends on how long you are prepared to wait for the result.

    Apparently, there is a procedure for formally requesting additions much in the same way as the procedure for adding STB's to the PUC list
