Penta Mk 3 Display and Stand By

Does anyone know why a Penta III sometimes shows the display (one speaker only - the other one works all the time!) and powers off )ie red light on) and other times does not (ie green light still on)?  Leads and output (from a BM 7000)  have been swapped to check it is not those at fault.

I am wondering if it is in the speaker itself and if so how can one approach a fix?

     Thanks for any help....

I suggest that you contact Tim Jarmam at www.beocentral.com who will be able to fix them for sure. He's not far from you in Farnborough.

Are you running them from speakerlink or powerlink?

Are they set to Auto ... or L and R ?

Re: Penta Mk 3 Display and Stand By

Display issue partially resolved.  I tried another powerlink lead and that enabled the display to work!  I have tested the existing leads with a mulitmeter and each pin shows a complete circuit, but 1 out of my 3 leads does not work!  Does anyone know which of the 8 pins carries the display information so I can double check that particular pin?

With regard to the switching to stand by, I can hear the relay attempting to switch the unit off - is that likley to be a sticking relay which I could clean or ???
