    Motorized Curtains and Beo5 integration

Can we integrate a motorized curtain with the Beo5? If yes, how?

Should be possible, as long as the motorized curtains are controlled with an Infra-Red remote...

Yes, the curtain is equipped with its own remote. But how to do that? can the Beo 5 operate non B&O equipment?

The remote codes for the curtains will be different from B&O codes and at present the beo 5 cant use other frequencies.

I have the same problem. The only way out is to use lutron for B&O  - which uses B&O codes and operate curtains via that- its an expensive solution!

What about an IR-converter like the Lintronic-box -238. It works with Beo 4 and Beo 5.
    For more information: www.lintronic.dk.

At the moment, non Beo IRs are not listed but I can assure you that they are on the way!

I went through the Lintronic website. It can solve the problem but can I get a brief about how to do that through lutron?

What mode to press on the Beo 4 for instance to activate the curtain? For the moment I have a lutron panel so suffice it to press the "lighting mode" to be able to control the light. What would be the case with the curtains?

Re: Motorized Curtains and Beo5 integration

Example - This is hard to grasp.  You need to speak with Lutron.

Light 1 2 3 Set for 3 different light scenes

Light 4 5 6 Set for 3 different blind settings

Light 7 8 9 Set for 3 different combination settings

Light 0 set to all on

    red dot all off.

So if 1 is day 2 is evening and 3 is night for lights then 4 would be day blind settings and 7 would do both.

Alternatley if the the blind motors handle Tilt then 7 is open 8 Tilt and 9 close.

    Clear as mud?

    Or...cont...

You need a GRX-AV (contact closure output for blinds). So using say a GBO-3104 (4 zone controller). 4 outputs can be assigned in groups of 4 1-4, 5-8, 9-12 and 13-16.  Scene 13 is the maximum for Light on the Beo4 remote.

    Speak to Lutron direct.

    Clearer than mud now.

Re: Motorized Curtains and Beo5 integration

May I direct you to the bottom of the page?

Keith is an absolute whizz with this sort of stuff. He once told me that around 95% off all remotes available in the UK can be programmed into the Beo5.

Dealers doing it by the book can only access what is already in the Configuration tool. If you can live without your curtain remote control for a few days, Keith can extract the ir codes and create an XML code which can be added to the Configuration tool.
