    DVD1 disc formats

Before I buy a DVD recorder, can someone please tell me which format(s) of DVD are playable on my DVD1? My user guide doesn't say!

Do I therefore assume by this omission that, with the exception of possibly DVD RAM, it plays all the other types?

I don't want to buy a recorder which records only to discs that the DVD1 won't play!

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: DVD1 disc formats

The following formats will playback on a DVD1 PROVIDED it is not an early version where there can be some issues:-

DVD -R   DVD +R   DVD -RW  DVD +RW

Having said the above DVD -RW has never been part of the B&O spec and in early versions they would not playback DVD -RW discs

3 different drives have been used in the DVD1! Tell us which one you are talking about.

    - Type 4620
    - Type 4620 from serial 16255681
    - Type 4621-4627

    Re: DVD1 disc formats

The types have always been a puzzle to me. I have a type 4620 which van play MP3 cd's (Philips interface), but I have allways been led to believe that only type 4621 can play MP3.
