    Penta midrange refoam

    Hi

They are aviable foam and rubber surrondings for Pentas midrange speakers.

Do anyone have any experiences about them, is eiher of them better than other?

Original is foam but if replaced with rubber, it will last longer but does it affect the sound of speakers?

    Anyone have rerubber them?

I wasn't sure myself so ordered foam replacements. Haven't fitted them yet as with all my own gear I never seem to find the time to finish lol!

I would think it would matter less with mid drivers tbh, and there is a thread somewhere where a user was able to directly compare and not notice any difference!

    Olly.

I have heard from someone who had the surrounds of his CX100's replaced by rubber surrounds. The did not sound like before, the sounded worse. In case of MS150's I have heard that placing rubber surrounds improved the bass. So it can go both ways......

I have refoamed cx50 with rubber surrounds in comparing to a pair of c2300 (C40) which I refoamed with foam surrounds the bass of the cx50 are deeper and more powerfull.

The Cx100's I refoamed with foam surrounds, because of the rubber ones the clue surface is smaller than the foam ones. The rubber surrounds i got were smaller

Ok, I guess it's safer to go with foam. Afterall it's midrange and foam is more flexible(?) than rubber, and refoaming happens once in 20 years, I hope.

    Thanks everyone for opinion :)
