Are the plasma screens panasonic, and the lcd's samsung??
To answer your post they use panels from other manufacturers that meet there stringent tests and use there own software and bodys

As Panasonic is the last to produce plasma screens and as there are now only 2 (maybe 3) producers of LCD screens in the world, I can't see how B&O could do things differently.
If a TV was just its panel, we would all have PC monitors : it's just a panel without complex electronics, and it's cheap...

Moreover, every iPhone is 50% Samsung... thus? The iPhone is another thing... it's not just some hardware... it's a complex thing, a mix between hardware, software, genius, brand, ux interface, ergnomy, etc.
It's the same for a tv. It's the same for every object... you can say that every chair is made of wood... but every chair is different, some chair are really expensive an unique, others are cheap and mass market...
a tv is something that live with you for 10 years... it's not only technology, I've great problem to change my 12 years old Beovision 1...

Obviously it wouldn't be feasible for a small manufacturer to build their own panels.
