Hey people, just a quickie. Can anyone give me a concise answer I can pass onto some who's of the opinion that "B&O are just rebranded Samsungs"?

Are the plasma screens panasonic, and the lcd's samsung??

To answer your post they use panels from other manufacturers that meet there stringent tests and use there own software and bodys

    Re: B&O/Samsung

As Panasonic is the last to produce plasma screens and as there are now only 2 (maybe 3) producers of LCD screens in the world, I can't see how B&O could do things differently.

If a TV was just its panel, we would all have PC monitors : it's just a panel without complex electronics, and it's cheap...

Moreover, every iPhone is 50% Samsung... thus? The iPhone is another thing... it's not just some hardware... it's a complex thing, a mix between hardware, software, genius, brand, ux interface, ergnomy, etc.

It's the same for a tv. It's the same for every object... you can say that every chair is made of wood... but every chair is different, some chair are really expensive an unique, others are cheap and mass market...

a tv is something that live with you for 10 years... it's not only technology, I've great problem to change my 12 years old Beovision 1...

Well, your BeoVision 1 is a rebranded Philips! The picturetube is Philips, and that is the biggest part in your BeoVision 1, so it must be a Philips.....Wink if we start calling the use of parts of a certain brand rebranding than everything you can buy is rebranded!

Obviously it wouldn't be feasible for a small manufacturer to build their own panels.

    Re: B&O/Samsung

When I try to explain this stuff to men I refer to cars and ask this question. Does the engine from Dacia have the same performance as Ferrari as they both use Mahle pistons?

Just look at this list from Mahle web page:

MAHLE ENGINE COMPONENTS AND MAHLE FILTERS ARE USED IN VEHICLES AND ENGINES OF THE FOLLOWING BRANDS:

Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Case, Caterpillar, Chevrolet, Citroën, Cummins, Dacia, DAF, Deutz, Ducati, Ferrari, Fiat, Ford, GM, Harley Davidson, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, Iveco, Jaguar, John Deere, Kia, Komatsu, Lancia, Land Rover, Mack Trucks, Magna Steyr, MAN, Maserati, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, MWM International, New Holland, Nissan, Opel, Perkins, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Renault Trucks, Saab, Scania, Seat, Škoda, Smart, Steyr, Stihl, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, Vauxhall, VW, Volvo, Yamaha.
