    Beovision 7 1080p

We saw the Beovision 7 with 1080p and Beosystem 3 in it yesterday. It was, in a word, spectacular. The picture was much much better than the Beovision 4 next to it or the Beovision 9 across from it.

    Beovision 7-55 with Beolab 7-4, 9s and 4000s

    Beovision 10-40 with Beolab 1s and 6000s

    Beosound 1, 5, 2000, and 3000

    Re: Beovision 7 1080p

That is very interesting to know as I went from an early BV7-40 to a BV4-65 and was not particularly impressed with either - maybe this is the answer.  Do you know if the new BV7s are still in 32 or 40 inch only or are larger sizes planned?  Also I have been informed by my dealer that the the BV4's will ship with 1080p from Sept - interesting to see how they stack up against the new BV7.

I suspect you had the BV4-65 without a BeoSystem 3, but a BeoSystem 2 or 1 instead? That would be the reason why.

    Re: Beovision 7 1080p

You assume the new BV7 will be in 32inch as well; I haven't heared/seen anyone who confirms this. I see only mentioning the BV7 40inch!

    Do you have extra info?!

ps where did you see the new BV7 ?

I have been advised by my local dealer that the 1080p BV7 will be available, late 2007,in 40",and 46" sizes.

Also the BV9 will be shortly shipping with a full HD panel.

Both 1080p 40" BV7,and BV9 will be at current prices.

    If correct,great news!

Yes, great news....but I wonder where that leaves the 32" version? Do they upgrade the chassis but keep the same panel or do they not upgrade anything, which would potentially make it inferior to the BV8-32 (with a HDMI port)? No dealer knows what's going to happen to the BV7-32, it appears!

    Still, a 1080p, BS3-based BV7-40 at the same price, bargain! a BS3 itself is around £5000!

    Re: Beovision 7 1080p

1080p isn't needed at all on a 32" screen. I suspect they may stay at a 720p resolution, yet change the innards to a BeoSystem 3 based chassis. It would seem rather daft to keep the most popular TV vastly lagging behind the others in terms of performance.

Just finished setting up Beolab 9s in front and moving old front Beolab 1s to rear. The sound is incredible and only makes me want the Beovision 7 even more. The Avant speakers just are not up to Beolab 9 and 1s as surround speakers.

    Re: Beovision 7 1080p

Wait for the update, it'll be worth it visually, as well as sonically if they keep the same sound processor used in the BeoSystem 3 (which I guess they will).

No release date has been confirmed. My guess is thas the relaese will take place in the fall 2007 (which could be delayed until spring 2008 if B&O acts as they always do with new relaeses [:'(])

I do have a feeling that B&O will surprise us this time (in Europe), and launch the 7-40 mkIII fairly soon....

    Re: Beovision 7 1080p

There are no plans of making the 7-32 Full HD, but a quick look at the current Samsung panel line-up (32") and the lack of HDMI indicates that something will have to be done. But we have no tech spec's on the 7-32 mkIV.

The 7-40 mkIII is clearly based on the BeoSystem 3. Same number/type of connections and, as far as I can see, the same service modules.

I was reffering to the 7-32... (I think it would be strange if the 7-series is not the same tv execpt for screensize. OK, no need for 1080p in the 32 - but anyway...)

    Re: Beovision 7 1080p

    Hi Roger

As always your answers are very informative ... Could you share some more deep knowledge :)

    - built in STB? (quite common in other brands)

    - BlueRay - player? (would make sense with the 1080p display)

    - built in harddisk?

    - BeoMedia? (BV9 has it !)

and one more thing ... will the 46" be wider or will the screen eat some of it's surrounding black frame ?

    /Munin

    Re: Beovision 7 1080p

There is the option of a DVB-S/T

    No Blu-ray

    No HDD

    No Beomedia.

The 46" will be wider and there is a correspondingly wide BV7 to go with it.

Remember the BV9 has acres of space in it which the BV7 does not - fitting the HDR2 and Beomedia in the BV9 is easy!

I'm sure you mean "correspondingly wide BL7 to go with it."
