The AMC amp has no line level outputs, pay a little more and go for an Onkyo, for  550 USD you can get a TX-NR 708 or 709, these amps gives a lot of posibilities.

For active speakers a line level output is a must.

Beosound 3000, BL 4000, BL 8000, BG 2404,BG 5000, BG CD50, Beocord 5000, BM 901, BM 2400, BM 4000, BV S45, BV 3702. There is nothing we cannot do, but a lot of things we don't want to do!!

    Orenhefetz,

That AMC looks like a winner. I actually quite like it. Apert from that, have you thought of an NAD 1020? Those seem to be the go-to preamp and can be had in your price range. If you are looking for just enough to push a stereo config, consider the Onkyo TX-8050, fits you bill as well. I know its a receiver but you don't have to use it like one.

FYI, "line level" is not what you are looking for, those are not volume controlled and will result in some frazzled 8000s. If you end up buying a receiver, a "Pre-out" would be the correct connection.

That looks like it would do a fine job. I can only fully recommend Rotel. They make products that are very hard to fault. If you can get one with a remote for that price I think you would be in for a good deal.
