Re: Beo6 wifi with Beosound 5

    Griebel:

    Hi Folks,

Would have been a (huge) surprise that the new Beo- 2-way wireless communication with BS5 tool worked properly from the beginning.

I did test it and confirm some of the observations:

    - Queue and Play Queue browsing not working Does work!

    - Larger cover art not displaying All covers are shown!

    - Selection of an album by a long press opens an empty submenu ? after selection of an albums it shows all the tracks

The rest is working, but since the Queue is not working, can only play one track at the time! Complete Albums can be played; long press the album then select play

Is it a software problem or a configuration problem? Since it is working for some of you, I guess it's a BS5/BM5/BEO6 configuration issue.

For those the tool works properly, could you please give us some details on your configuation (eg, BS5/BM5 as audio master etc.)

    Thanks

    See above

    BM5/BS5 = set as audiomaster, option 0

Internal Harddisk as source of media files

70% WMA lossless, 25% Flac and 5% MP3; embedded covers; file type JPG resolution minimum 500*500 (for 95% maximum not above 600*600)

    LAN: Linksys E4200 cat5e or 6 cable to BM5; seperate dedicated LAN sub system;

fixed IP address for BM5 and also for Beo6

Like I said, for some of you it works perfectly, for some it doesn't.

What's your configuration? Are you using the Cisco router recommended by B&O?

Well, the only difference I can see is the use of a dedicated LAN subsystem with the router recommended by B&O. It seems therefore that this may be the issue.

    Anybody agrees?

No... I tried with the Cisco router recommended by B&O as a subsystem. Doesn't change anything.

    I have no clue...

Re: Beo6 wifi with Beosound 5

So, do I get it right:

    - the minimum size of the covers is 500x500

    -the maximum size is 600x600

    Regards, Tim

    @Tim

that is how I did choose the covers. I do not state that higher or lower resolutions are impossible

Re: Beo6 wifi with Beosound 5

Ok, I feared that my lossless files with covers at 1500x1500 Resolution will not work.

So I have to try it out on my own.

Re: Beo6 wifi with Beosound 5

Was the software in BS5/BM5 updated or the CTconfig tool for Beo6?

I do not have any update pending in my BS system anyway.

    Hi Folks,

To get the Beo6 work properly (with playlist+big cover art), restore the Beo6 remote (by pressing the off, then the ok button, then Settings), configure again the WiFi. Exit. Try, if it still doesn't work, use the Config Tool, remove BS5 and enter it again. Serialize... and then everything should work!

    Cheers

Re: Beo6 wifi with Beosound 5

    Hi

I can confirm that it really works. Not the configuring of the WiFi but the latter - to completely remove the ConfigTool and reinstall it again did the trick! Completely = uninstall in Windows is Not enough. You have to delete the whole library and then make a fresh install!

    Thanx Griebel!

PS. I changed the language to Swedish after I got a fresh english install to work. It then stopped working - so do not change the original language is my advice.
