    BeoVision 7-40 gets 3D & integrated Blu-ray

B&O has just updated the 40-inch BeoVision 7-40 with an integrated Blu-ray player with 3D and a 3D panel. The design, naturally, stays the same.

In the info of flatpanelshd it´s mentioned: "The screen in BeoVision 7-40 is based on a new LCD screen with two-sided edge type LED backlight."

But in the specs on B&O webside it´s still a "Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (CCFL)": http://www.bang-olufsen.de/specifications?productid=746.

I think flatpanelshd is correct, because my dealer told me the new BV 7-40 3D has a new panel.

    Re: BeoVision 7-40 gets 3D & integrated Blu-ray

The tech spec says the Beemer output it only 2d which is a shame.

    Beovision 7 MKIV (Blu Ray)
    Beolab 9

    Beolab 6000
    Beo 4
    Beocenter 9300
    Apple TV
    SKY HD
    Optoma HD65 Projector
    Lintronic TT455-RT-238

    Hi!

I think the tech specs are totally confusing:

    BV 7-55 3D: Front Projector connection: 1 x HDMI with 2D

    BV 7-40 3D: Front Projector connection: 1 x DVI-D

Now take a look in the manual of Beovision 7 ("getting started"):

Connection panels - Beovision 7-55 (page 26): HDMI Out (Projector Out)

Connection panels - Beovision 7-40 (page 28): HDMI Out (Projector Out)

And "Watch 3D television" (at the bottom of page 19):

    Projectors:

Not all connected projectors support 3D technology. If a projector connected to the television does not

support 3D, 3D in the 3D DISPLAY menu is greyed out in CINEMA mode.

I would really like to know the correct specs of Beovision 7-55 and 7-40 regarding connected projectors, HDMI and 3D!

    Can anybody help me?

    Regards

    Re: BeoVision 7-40 gets 3D & integrated Blu-ray

@Räuber: Tried to get a Sony VPL-VW90ES to work with the 7-55 mkII, but there is some serious interefence going on between the two in-compatible 3D IR systems. We ran it by Struer and the short answer is: This is software related and an update will be released soon (I belive the date was set to 19th December or somewhere around there). And, yes, they have gone from DVI to HDMI now.

    Hi,

now the specs of BV 7-40 3D on B&O website have been updated:

    - Backlight type: Edge LED type

    - Front Projector connection: 1 x HDMI (I assume 3D is possible)
