    What is the difference between

    Beomaster 5000 and Beomaster 5500? Would the remote for 5000 work for 5500 as well?

    No, the codes used are completely different.

    The MCP 5000 only works for the Beosystem 5000 and the MCP5500 only for the Beosystem 5500/6500/7000
