    Beocenter 2, Beoport and Beomedia...

    Hi folks!

Again... I am posting on the forum to be helped as I am out of solution... :)

Here is my problem. At first I had a Beocenter 2 connected to a Beoport which was connected to my PC.

Everything was running well and I was able to get my music from the computer to the Beocenter 2 using the NMUSIC functionnality. Everything was perfectly working. I must precise the speakers are connected to the socket unit of the Beocenter 2 and not to the Beoport. I do not need to have the sound of the PC to the speakers, so if fits my needs.

After having played a lot, I wanted to setup a NMUSIC system without using my computer. So I bought a second hand Beomedia 1. I configure it, copy my music on it, plug a headset to the line output just under the ML jack and everything was working : I could hear the music :) So I wanted to use it in combination with my Beocenter 2. What I did for the plugin was :

    - Connect the ML cable from the socket unit of the Beocenter 2 to the Beomedia

    - no other connection (network)

I do not plug a jack cable as (again...) I thought the ML cable was for audio and video AND the only audio output I had on the Beocenter 2 was the jack on the master unit... not good. Each time I select NMUSIC on the remote control or directly on the LIST menu of the Beocenter 2, it does not work.

I thought the Beomedia 1 was the same thing as my PC + Beoport, but it seems not...

So here is my 2 problem :

    1. On which connector should I plug the jack of the Beomedia 1? in the socket unit I suppose, but there is no line IN...

    2. Why the Beomedia 1 is not NMUSIC working with the Beocenter 2 ?

    Thanks a lot,

    Sergio

after spent time reading older post and digging on Internet, it seems that the Beomedia 1 can not be a master audio and thus can not act as a PC + Beoport... is this correct?

The BeoMedia 1 was, as far as I remember, always intended for being connected to a TV
    (=video-master).

Re: Beocenter 2, Beoport and Beomedia...

The installations guide for BM1 says:

          Audio master
To be able to distribute N.MUSIC and N.RADIO from BeoMedia 1 to audio and
video link rooms, an N.MUSIC / N.RADIO compatible audio master is required, i.e.:
                                                BeoSound 3000 / 3200 / 9000 / BeoCenter 2 / BeoCenter 1 / BeoSound 4.

So your BeoCenter 2 needs to be configured as audio master. Maybe you need a SW update of Beocenter 2 to support N.Music. The same was true for BS300.

    Hi hfat,

It is already NMUSIC compatible because it is working with Beoport. I try to find a setup in the Beocenter 2 in order to configure it as a audio master, but there was nothing. I download the latest guide and nothing here neither...

I try to find a setup in the Beocenter 2 in order to configure it as a audio master, but there was nothing.

If a BeoCenter 2 is set to "A.OPT" "0" or "1" or "2" it is an AUDIO MASTER
    - if you set it to "A.OPT" "5" or "6" (to use a BeoCenter 2 as a secondary
Audiosystem in a MasterLink system) it's not any longer an Audio Master.

    Set your BC 2 to "A.OPT" "2"

The BM1 was always intended to be a part of a TV setup - for some older
TVs an external IR receiver was necessary ...
