I cannot get audio from my TV when the new Apple TV is connected.
I have tried connecting the optical lead from the Apple box to the TV via a optical to digital coax converter that is plugged into the orange socket on the back, but still nothing!
Any idea's please...?
Topsparks: Any idea's please...?
More details about your B&O TV and the rest of your config, please!
Having the same problem!!
ATV is plugged into an HDMI to component convertor, this then into component sockets on the TV and audio into a scart convertor. Picture is perfect but there is no sound. Even plugging the audio into the audio jacks directly makes no difference.
Is this your set up Topsparks?

I have picture fine. The audio is connected to one of the orange digital coax inputs on the tv (top right on back) via an optical to digital converter, the optical cable being connected to the Apple TV box.
No, it's for a customer. I have spoken to B&O technical who have talked me through configuring the correct inputs and it was their view that the Apple TV box should have an option to set the audio output to optical, however, under the Apple settings there is no option to change it. The HDMI option cannot be changed from auto and the audio otions are either auto or 16 bit. Spoke to Apple technical and they advised that the TV was not comatable and I should plug it into a seperate home theatre system. B&O advise this is bo**ox...
Which version of the Beovision 7 is it? If I remember correctly the first versions (MK l and ll I think) didn't support standard 2-channel PCM sound through the digital inputs, only DTS and DD. You had to use analog audio for 2-channel sound...
Try playing a movie with DD 5.1 on the Apple TV.

Buy this and forget apple overpriced crap.
BS 1, BeoCom 2, 2x LC 2, Form 2, BS 2, BS 3, 2x Beo 4, BS 5, BM 5, BL 5,Beo 6, BS 6, 2x A8, BV 8-40, BL 8000, 3x A9 Keyring, Serenata, BeoTime, BeoTalk 400
I'm connecting to a beovission7. It does NOT accept audio through the HDMI cable.
Have tried changing the Dolby setting, but makes no difference, still NO audio.
Where did you connect the analogue audio to?
hi, does it have genuine hdmi fitted or is there a dvi to hdmi convertor? If it does dvi doesnt carry sound!
I am aware that the HDMI cable wil not carry audio (it's connected through a DVI adaptor on the TV), that's why I'm trying to use the optical cable from the ATV.
Changing the Dolby setting makes no difference...
Please explain how to do this...
Raeuber:So try the sound with DD 5.1 material from ATV 2, p.e. a rented film. I assume you will hear the sound and so your BV 7 cannot handle PCM sound. An firmware update can solve this problem.
Right!
This has been discussed several times. An update (DSM module) will solve the problem. Unfortunatly it's not a software update.
What is a DSM module and where do I get one please?
It's the sound module in your tv. It needs an update with a newer chip. Ask your dealer.

Does anyone know if the DSM module is available for Beovisions 7-32 MK II?? If yes which part No. should i order and what shall i expect pricewise??
