    BEO4 setup - radio, cd, a tape functions don't seem to work?

    Hi,

    Trying to set up a beo4 previously only used with a MX4000, I've tried the List+Standby button then selecting option then a.opt and 1, the light on my beosound 1 then blinks.

    However, only the TV, Sat, V Tape and Light buttons seem to work I'm getting nothing from Radio, CD, A Tape, Record or AV, could someone tell me how to reanable these buttons?

    Many Thanks Again!

    You will need to put it in option v opt 2, then you should be able to bring through your cd radio :)

    Thanks kai, I've tried to do this but it doesn't seem to have fixed the problem.  But I'm really new to all of this and might have done something wrong. [:'(]

    Are video and audio sources connected by Masterlink or separate systems?

    Sorry, I should probably have described this more clearly, I'm trying to use a beo4 with a beosound 1, but the aforementioned buttons don't work and therefore I can't operate the beosound 1.

    I've recently purchased the beo4 off someone who has exclusively used the remote with an mx4000.

    I wondered if I had to add a.setup?

    I just tried a.opt 1 on my Beosound 1 and all worked fine. Your Beosound 1 works fine using the bittons on it, correct?

    Works fine using the buttons on it.

    Hello,

    I think you should try to use a different audio config for the beo4. Setting A.Mode or V.Mode configures the device how it responds to IR commands and not the BEO4 which commands it sends:

    Standby+List

    select Config

    select Audio

    select Basic.

    It's worth a try. (BEO4 guide, page 14)

    Thanks hfat

    When I press Standby+List I only get three options

    Option?

    <press list again>

    Add?

    <press list again>

    Remove?

    I don't seem to get the option to select Config?

    Is this hidden?

    Probably your BEO4 has an older SW. For the moment, i'm afraid, I have no clue.

    I suspect that the Beo4 has keyboard problems. The remote is faulty.

    As far as I know, there is no way to disable the buttons on the remote and no way to enable them.

    The setting up  functions on the remote merely control what additional functions are present when you press LIST (a quicker ADD/REMOVE function)

    View the IR emitters with your mobile phone camera and press the offending buttons - you should see the IR diodes emit the signal if the buttons are working.

    Regards Graham

    There is also the possibility that your Beo4 has been set to a permanent link mode. To disable press standby list, then list again until you reach "config" (not sure what to do if config is not present on your remote) and then 2 0 0 2.

    Thanks everyone for the help, doesn't look like there is an easy answer though.

    Might look for another Beo4.

    Did you check the IR-emitter with your handy Camera?
