Beogram 1200-starting 'slide bar'-what pulls it back after it engages on the wheel?

I'm from Australia & am restoring a Beogram 1200 Type 5214 for a friend who's an enthusiast. He bought it from an op shop. Most of it is intact with a seemingly good working motor, however the start mechanism (activated by the black button) is inoperative & may have some parts missing......According to the service manual this is how it's supposed to work:Looking at the unit with bottom cover removed, there is an arm which is swung anticlockwise (when the black start button is pushed) which pulls on another arm called the 'slide bar'.This 'slide bar' engages on a tooth of the 'cam-lifting wheel' , moving it ,causing the wheel to activate a microswitch which makes the motor start up if it was previously stopped. Presumably the 'slide bar ' is held in its place slotted to the chassis on one end & by a return spring & a couple of washers on the other end.

My question is where is the 'slide bar' return spring anchored? Is there supposed to be some sort of guide that holds the 'slide bar' near the 'cam lifting wheel'?...The service manaul does not show any anchoring point.I would appreciate if someone could explain &/or have photos of the part of the 'slide bar' that I'm talking about.

    Hi

I have had a look at the service manual and the parts that you might be interested in appear to be Nos 71, 72 and 73, designated as start button, start arm and start spring.  If that is the case, then I have some old photos from this machine which might be of use.  Hope that it is of some help to you

    Good luck

    Geoff

Just to clarify that last post...if anyone has one of these 1200 babes in proper working order....all I ask that they do is with the unit in its n ormal working position, that they remove the platter & take a picture of the chassis with the platter removed. They definitely do not have to take the bottom cover off for any reason. Apparently to remove the platter its just undoing 3 screws under the plastic tab....if someone could do this I would really appreciate it!

insert/edit image doesn't show my photos on forum

Insert/Edit Image is the photo icon on the line of other icons such as Font and Bullets when you create a post

It requires you to store somewhere on the Internet your image and provide an HTTP link (image URL)

Some people store their images under their profile on this site, others use a service like Image Shack

A quicker way is to go to the tabs at the top of the post

Move from "Compose" to "Option" and select "Add/Update" File Attachment

This will let you upload an image directly from your Pc

So it is a faster workflow

But ... (there is always a but) ... it only adds one photo per post

So try it and see if you can get at least one picture to load

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*
