    beocenter 2 and socket

    Hi folks!

Another question from a newby... I may have the opportunity to buy a beocenter 2 unit and the socket unit separately. Will the 2 combined worked? I do not see why it won't BUT I might suspect the use of a form of "bond" between the two...

Of course, the purchase is legal, it is from a trusted seller. I already told him that I may contact B&O regardless the serial number.

    cheers,

    sergio

Yes they'll work together.  Make sure the seller of the socket unit provides the PIN code.  You'll also need the connection cable.  And some of these just play CD's, not DVD's.  Make sure you know what you're getting.

Be careful. The DAB-socket may not work with a non-DAB head.

See the writeup in the main product sections:

"Note: To have the DAB module fitted to your BeoCenter 2 is essential that both the Socket Unit and Master unit are the latest versions. Mixing existing stock of Master Units (pre-serial number 18139286) and DAB Socket Units (part number 1280020) is not possible."

    Re: beocenter 2 and socket

There are two versions of BeoCenter2, mark1 and mark2.

The socket box and head unit MUST be of the same version. It is NOT possible to connect a mark1 and a mark2 together. If you can post the four digit type number for each product, it is possible to tell whether you are planning to buy a matched pair.

    Thanks for the tips!

I just read here (http://beocentral.com/beocenter2) that there are 2 differents finition : Aluminium and Steel. What are the differences? I was not able to find pictures of them on Internet. Maybe somebody have it here ;)

    thanks in advance,
