    Beo 6 remote

I hear that the new Beo 6 remote is now ready for two way communication with the Beosound 5. Does anyone on Beoworld North America have any comments?

I think the software has been delayed for the moment - B&O were not completely happy with it just yet. having seen it in action, it will be well worth waiting for.

Since it will be using WiFi for communicating, the original BeoSound 5 will need a ML Gateway in the network somewhere.

I know next to nothing about ML so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It is my understanding through information at the B&O Store in Chicago that the both the Beosound 5 and Beosound 5 Encore do not need a gateway. The Beomaster 5 software has been updated to communicate wirelessly with a Beo 6 remote but not a Beo 5 - Certainly hope that this is the case before purchasing a Beo 6 remote.

    Re: Beo 6 remote

Here is the latest information I have on the Beo6 remote as of July 21, 2011:

"The pricing for the Beo 6 is $650.00 plus $450 remote programming fee. The two way is not yet possible at this point but will soon be. The date is not yet announced but it will happen within this year.

And no, it is not necessary to purchase or install the ML Gateway to have two way communication between the Beo 6 and BeoSound 5/BeoMaster 5. The Beo 6 will basically be connected to your wireless system and communicate to BeoSound 5/BeoMaster 5 that way. "

    Re: Beo 6 remote

It's not here in the US yet.... if a dealer has it working they are most likely testing it for the company... one would think the Chicago store would def. have it first as they are so close to the headquarters in the US. Look more towards the arrival of the Encore for the B6 wifi to be activated.... which shouldn't be too long here :)

and no you don't need the ML gateway for two way to work on B6, just a BeoMaster 5 and the B6.
