    Av2 Expander Part number 8089111

    Just seen one of these on e-bay and I'm wondering if it would work with an RF Avant VCR. The manual seems to point to it being for MX Tv's but then a previous version of this expander worked with Avants as well by setting the AV Socket to Video Tape 2

    To sue this expander the AV socket has to be set to Expander in the menu of the TV. This is only possible with certain MX/LX televisions.

    Thanks blackrix - saved me an expensive mistake probably - there is no expander in the menu so will leave will alone.

    Thanks again, always good to have this forum to refer too if in doubt

    I think it may be useful and work with the Avant.  From the manual for my Beovision 3:

    AV 2 Expander

    The optional AV 2 Expander accessory is a SCART expander for connection of non-Bang & Olufsen equipment, such as decoders, game consoles, and cameras to the DECODER socket on your television. Use a 21-pin cable to connect one plug to the socket marked TV on the Expander box, and connect the other plug to the socket marked DECODER on the television. Remote control operation of equipment connected via the AV 2 Expander is not possible.

    I have an AV2 expander but have not tried it with my TV.  Sadly I don't have time to try it before that auction ends!

    Just buy it, test it, tell us, if it does not work, sell it for 1 Euro less...

    -> worth a try - I would say! <-
