    BeoCom 6000 Base Station

    Hello,

    I have a great problem:

I use a beocom 6000 and I was very satisfied with this phone. Two weeks ago my daughter was not so careful with the phone and now it’s damaged. I bought a used phone and tried to connect it with the base station.

During the connection the phone asked me about a PinCode. I changed the default code but I forgot it. Is there any possibility to reset the base station to the factory settings without using the phone?

I hope you can help me.

Thank you very much in advance.

I'd take it into your local dealer, one a 5 minute job. Not sure if you can do it without a handset, perhaps there is away...anyone???

Thanks you very much for the advise.

I called my local dialer and he told me that I have to change the complete board. There is no possibilty to reset the pin. Wow!

    Re: BeoCom 6000 Base Station

I thought I had changed my pin code, but later it didn't work. I tried the default code "0000" and that did it! Try it, before you hand in the hand set.

This is probably a "long shot" but what part of your original (broken) phone no longer works? Could you make the broken phone work using the working phone - reset the pin, then put the working phone back together?

    Re: BeoCom 6000 Base Station

It may not need a new circuit board yet!  If too many handsets have been added to a base station, it will ask for a PIN.

Sometime in the past, could your base have had other handsets added to it?  Is there a way you could 'remove' them by using your working handset?

    Can't hurt trying.

I think your dealer can't reset the PIN, but Bang & Olufsen might be able to reset it!

    Saw this on eBay LINK

Can't vouch for the service but saw it when perusing last night.

    Thanks.

I wrote to the support of B&O in Denmark two weeks ago.

    The answer was:

"Thank you for your request. Below is a summary of your request and our response.

    Dear Mr. Maehr,

We are sorry that your BeoCom 6000 handset became defective, and that you cannot make registration of your new handset work with your base station.

If a PIN-code has been activated in the telephone, and you do not remember this, it will be necessary that you contact your Bang & Olufsen dealer in order to obtain help in opening it again. This is not something we can handle by e-mail.

    Kind regards,
    Bang & Olufsen a/s

    Customer Service"
