Have you checked the setting in your Virgin box, to make sure it sends the sound over the HDMI?
If you use PBR, you must transfer the sound separately to BV7 from the digital output (optical) from the Virgin box to a digital input on the BV7 (SPDIF).
For this you need a converter to go from the optical (Toslink) type of cable from the Virgin to the SPDIF cable that BV7 accept. Such convcerters are quite cheap. Drawback is that they need power supply.
