    Veneer colour codes?

Some time ago there was a BM6000 Quad on eBay on which someone had painted the veneer black. I asked the seller if he knew what type of veneer it was under the paint - he answered it should be Teak, because the serial number said so.

Is this really part of the serial number? Somehow I doubt it.

If it's true, what colour should this be? There's nothing left of the original veneer and I want to replace it...

It's not part of the actual serial number but often found stamped on the same label as f.e. P2 or P3.
It's not easy to say what the original finish was on the Beocenter 1800 since there are
no obvious codes but it could easily have been white.

So if there's no code it is white? I now remember seeing those stamps (P2 etc.) on other units. As I bought this Beocenter along with a original white Beocord 2200 you should be right...

Great! That makes replacement all the easier. I'm sure I have some white adhesive foil somewhere.

It's not a rule that it's white if there is no veneer coding.
    It is just possible.
