BeoLab 4500 - Remove power cable

    Hello,

The power cable seems to be covered where it enters the rear of the speaker.

Anyone know how to remove the power cable from the speaker itself?

    Thanks beoaus.

The power cord is soldered on so you will have to get inside to get it out.

I haven't been inside my amps for a while, but I think you need to access it from the back via torx driver.

I checked you are correct. So I had to cut the cords at the power socket end.

The speakers are being checked out after being in a room that flooded, lots of moisture and water. I wonder if the speaker cones are rubber or paper?

    I am crossing my fingers...

I am pretty sure the woofers are paper.

I need to go and replace my power cords too, as the last owner cut them in half and as a temporary solution, I just added some new wall terminations and used extension cords.

The cones are made out of plactic, and the dust-caps out of rubber, so there shouldn't be any damage to the drivers. Smile

That's great news! I have only had the frets off once or twice, and it shows! Laughing The best part, for all of us, is that the drivers also have rubber surrounds!

    Yes, the speakers are ok.

The house has damage, and some contents destroyed. Most of the B&O equipment is fine. Its a process though.... Lots of people are worse off.

    thanks, beoaus.
