Monday is ok, I still have to buy the cloth as well. And yes I am Dutch as well. The name / type should be ok I think I should be able to buy it somewhere. I do not think your employer is the only one who is using it. Smile

I'd be eager to know the tape type also - Can you post it up on this thread when you find out please?

    :)

    Re: cx50 refurb

Newcomer here, wanted to compliment you on the refurb of your CX50's. They look wonderful, you did a great job!

I recently refoamed my CX50's, with a kit sold by someone in the UK on eBay (I'm in the US). Went well, and I'd previously replaced the foam around the tweeters with parts from B&O a few years back. My stripes are discolored too, so the link to the tape vendor is much appreciated.

These are destined for high up the walls in my eat in kitchen. I have mounting brackets from another UK vendor who advertises on Beoworld.

Current B&O gear in addition to the CX50's includes Beogram 3000 table, Beosound 9000, Beolab 8000's, and an AV7000 that I no longer use.

Please post more pics as you replace the stripes!

    Re: cx50 refurb

Very nice! Thanks for posting, the tape looks great on them, just what my CX50's need. The tape is pretty yellowed on one of them. It's odd, when I got them they were on the junk table of a local hifi chain that sold B&O before B&O went to dedicated stores. They were a pair but obviously not from the same year, one is obviously older than the other and looked a bit different.

I notice peeking thru the grill cloth on these and the original ones that were stripped down earlier in the thread, it appears they are missing the foam used to control diffraction around the tweeter. Mine a piece of foam, rectangular, about a centimeter or two thick, with a circular hole in the middle about 6 or 7 cm in diameter. When I got the speakers back in the 90s this foam was missing on one of them, but B&O sold me a new pair of them. They fit inside the grill cloth/frets.

    Hi there,

Was there any lagging or insulation inside which you removed?

    Thanks,

    Nick

It is, thanks! Just imagine that these aluminium cabinets were badly scratched, but with some effort I polished them for a long time (pffffff) and got this result.

Finished them with 5mm grey/silver stripes.
