    Hi Dueno,

I thought this thread would explode with speculations. :-)

I'm also excited to hear more about what will come out this year regarding TVs... Would love a 46'' on a motorized floorstand, with built in Blu-Ray, STB, hard drive, ethernet/WLan, and an upgradeable user interface with apps..Smart TV/Google TV/ Apple TV ??

Getting ready to sell my car for one! ;-)

As much as it pains me to say this, had I listened to Flappo (and not my broker) and bought stock when he began proclaiming his man-crush on Steve Jobs, I would be in a position to buy B&O.  And I would also now be in a position to buy the rights from Peter Marks for his acoustic lens implants. Ooops, I let that one slip out.

2 points that make you insane.

    1. I already said I didn't buy Apple stock and so now I am poor, so your insane acuse sation now proves your are IQless.

    2. Melbourne Florida born in 1867 and Melbourne Australia born in 1835 so patent infringement is by them, and you will spend the rest of your life buiding a Lego wall around it.  And Lego walls won't keep a kangaroo out of your garden, anyway, so Hah!

OK, I am done, and will resort back to trying to act mature.  Darn it.  Unless you are pulling my string, in which case, you got me.

I know you're joking in an effort to get back on track, but I like my tv's to be fairly boring. They're big and ugly as it is (yes, I just bought a BV10 32", but it's still big and ugly - it's only pretty as far as tellies in general goes), so the less it brings attention to itself when off, the better.

If it were possible without having to close non-existant curtains in my home, I'd have a small hole in one of the walls and use the opposing wall as the canvas. That way it would be "non-existant" when it wasn't on. Okay, it may look weird having a small center speaker with nothing above it, but I guess I could live with that.

    Electrified,

Something similar to what you mention does exist. Imagine a framed picture, the canvas inside with the art rolls down and reveals a hidden plasma or LCD screen. When done watching tv the art rolls automatically up again and looks just as a regular painting.

I can't remember the brand though.

Off the thread topic, but related to Electrified's comment:

We're in the process of building out a master suite with a projector where the gear is practically invisible, including the speakers. The projector drops from a lift, the screen drops from a pocket, and the speakers are flush mount Sonance Architectural which have no flange or reveal of any type. The most discreet yet high-performance system I've done.

You could theoretically do this on a cheaper scale and get the same effect if you just left a wall blank and did stereo speakers in the wall or ceiling. Decent projectors aren't that much more expensive than TVs. You just have to control daylight in the room.
