How to put MPAV 9000 in Service Mode?

    Good afternoon,

I need some help with my MPAV 9000, which I have used very well so far with my BeoVision Avant 32DVD, via Beo4.

How do I put it in Service Mode, such that I can also manually command it? I have read on this forum that two pins have to be soldered together near the ML connector, but I want to make sure to do the right thing...

Any help would be appreciate it, thank you very much.

    Best Regards,

    Sebastiano

P.S. If anybody has a swift idea on how to connect a BeoGram 7000 directly to a BV 7-40 (remote controllable), I would greatly appreciate to hear it! On the German forum, response rate has been.... zero unfortunately so far!

I don't think the Beogram 7000 will connect to the 7-40 and be controllable as it relies on Datalink for the control, which has not be part of any modern B&O for sometime. To do this, you really need a Beomaster such as the 7000 and a Beolink converter. You might be able to do something with an MCL2AV but I think you will then need a MCL/ML converter , which is expensive. No idea about the MPAV I am afraid.

Info I got from Ulf Kiener (German member)Yes - thumbs up
    Disconnect from Mains.
Press POWER permanently and switch to Mains.
The green LED flashes, release Power from MPAV, this is Service Mode.
Now press CD or Radio, and surprise.......
How did you managed to control the Masterpanel in combination with your Avant?

Thanks for your answer Leslie - it's gold worth! I'll try it out tonight and let you know if it works.

Peter: Thanks also for your tips, I do still have an MCL2AV and also various Converters (active, passive) at home, i'll try your tip this weekend and post how it went. Until now, I controlled the MPAV via remote through the BV Avant, worked splendidly so far.

    Thanks all! Great forum Smile

Hi bluemike, Service mode for MPAV works for me as described by Leslie. To use it with the AVANT, it needs to be connected via ML and then the Avant needs to be set to Option 2, because the MPAV has no IR sensor (or not active, don't know).
Downside on my setup at least is that CD or Radio cannot be activated via remote when the entire system is off - doesn't bother me since i usually turn it on when putting in the CD. TV of course not affected.

On another note: I also got the Beogram 7000 to work directly with the Beovision 7-40 (and without Beomaster):
    - Beogram connected to CD plug on MCL2AV
    - Beolink Converter 1611 Datalink connected to TV plug on MCL2AV
    - Converter to TV via ML
    - BV set to option 2, MCL2AV set to option 1
    - MCL2AV needs the IR sensor attached

Works like a charm when pressing CD. I have no audio master in the room, so no downsides here!

    Happy weekend all

    thx,

I got it to work...  :-D

the only thing missing is to be able to see the source info on the MPAV and to be able to use the MPAVs buttons...

-but I guess that will NOT be possible  :-(

    source info shows on mine...

MPAV buttons you can use by following Leslie's instructions to put into service mode (disconnect mains etc...)

    @Sebastiano,

That's good news if the MPAV900 works with the Avant.

Can you please tell me (us) how you managed to do that?

The display of the Masterpanel works as well?
