    A8 subsitutes needed - Help!

Well, i've had enough of Bang & Olufsen A8's.

But, before you all recoil in horror, there's a reason...

Not every time i go running - but i'd say about once a month, the sweat gathers in the foams and ends up ruining one or other of the drivers.  Either that - or if it rains, the rain water does the same thing.  I remove them and dab the water off gently with my running top as i go, or remove the sponges and leave the A8's to dry on a warm radiator when i get home - but alas, the damage is done and another pair of A8's get relegated to the 'to be fixed' drawer.

So, I'm now looking at in-ear earphones as the way forward - and the Shure SE535 seems to be the best.  However, the Sennheiser IE8 is half the price and has rave reviews...  There are a plethora of these type of earphones around and to be fair my head is spinning!

Some "BeoWorld Advice" is needed here. Help!

    Lee

    Smile

Save on earphones and just sing really loudly as you run. It will have the additional benefit of warning others you're coming through.

Agreed. Just hum a little ditty.

    Better yet, stop running altogether.

    My recommendation would be these:

They provide extremely good isolation from street sounds, and while running, they act as a towel.

Seriously though, others appear to get on with THESE. A bit cheap and cheerful probably but lets face it - you don't look your best when running -

You can, with Form 1s, even worse with U70s. I've tried. :)

I bought wifey (5 time All-American Whistle) a kit w/ the case and an iPod shuffle to drop in. Light weight and 100% waterproof. She loves it.

As I said at the time - too flattering!

A bit too slim around the midriff and his right leg isn't stuck out at the correct jaunty angle!

These are the best I am aware of. They totally block out all ambient sound. They also make a model that allows some ambient in.

Do they come with their own security guard ? Laughing $1350. I had looked at the ue5 but I am just not sure about multiple drivers in something so small! I think I would look at Sennheiser IE6 or 8s. I actually just bought some more A8s as I couldn't find anything else easily available in a bricks and mortar store.

Laughing Yep! Definitely something for Lee to sweatily jog/run around/exercise with... particularly on very rainy days!

Logitech though... so they may actually take it! Smile
