Re: Beolink Wireless 1 Hardware/Specification updates?

The Type # for all BeoLink wireless from 2006 till now is 1780, indicating,  there are no
hardware changes, it's just the SW changed August 2007 from  Mk1 >> Mk2

It should be possible to update all units to current SW.

SW update 2.1 is allowing ML-Mode in the Linkroom.

SW 2.1 has been implemented August-2007 to all BeoLink Wireless 1 with Serial#  higher
    than 19956171.

How do you update the software of the Wireless? And once again, I do not have the privilege of going to "my dealer" since there isn't one any longer.

    Best Regards!

Update via PC & "Service Tool" avilable to B&O dealers / B&O service (centers) / B&O installers.

IMPORTANT: You'll also have to update all your BeoLink wireless to the same SW version,
    otherwise connecting is not possible.

    Okay, thank you!

It is becoming quite hard to retain a loyal B&O fan since the dealer network is almost non-existent and B&O doesn't offer any online/DIY support for simple tasks as software updates.

    Regards

Come on -  if you pack the Wireless 1 units properly it will be easy to ship them
to the next dealer / service center for an update - using a parcel service like UPS / TNT / DHL / ...

I agree. Kit I bought a few years ago - I have been palmed off onto some 3rd party 'expert' company to maintain - this is really not what I expected from B&O. They need to get national service centres up and running as the dealer support isn't what it was.

That might be true. However the point is - as Frog also commented - the service provided for B&O products is also here outsourced to a 3rd party. To be more specific a 3rd party which doesn't answer the phone nor reply your emails (not the best way to build up an entrusted customer service relationship).

I still consider a software update (among few other B&O related things) being something to be distributed via the internet in the 21st century.

    Regards

Sorry to hear that, but my experience with my local 3rd party B&O service center in the Vienna region is
completely different!   They answer the phone, reply mails and are doing a good job.
