    Internet access from BeoMedia

I have problems in connecting to the internet from my BeoMedia 1 (initial setup) I can connect to any network connected device in my internal setup, e.g. my NAS. When I try to connect to the internet e.g. www.bang-olufsen.com I can't get out in the internet zone. I can ping any device such as the NAS, my MAC etc. but I can't ping anything outside 'the house'.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi and a warm welcome Laursen,

Unfortunately I do not own a BeoMedia 1 but anyway I would like to point you to the following.

ad1) Have you double checked the internet preferences of the Internet Explorer of your BeoMedia 1? Maybe the Internet Explorer blocks all websites.

ad2) Have you double checked if your router allows internet access to the IP Address given to the BeoMedia 1?

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers,

    Lars

What does the screen/panel tell you? Not registered?

I assume that The internet works on the Mac.

Have you entered the service menu in the Beomedia?

    Connect a keyboard.

Enter the menu (press R and after that a 9 or 0, (don't know as the successor BM5 I now have is a bit different).

After that you should be able to check if the Beomedia got an ip address and sees the gateway address.

    Re: Internet access from BeoMedia

The BeoMedia do have an IP address (can be seen from the gateway), I can access the gateway, and other devices in my home from BeoMedia, but not any external adresses, e.g. ping google.com don't work. I have a wireless keyboard connected.

    Cheers

I don't remember to have registered elsewhere as in the BeoConnect.

    Re: Internet access from BeoMedia

Does NetRadio work?  If it does then the box thinks it is registered.  If it does not then you need to go through the whole process with BeoPlayer etc

    Re: Internet access from BeoMedia

I finally got it working - going step by step through the installation guide somewhat helped Big Smile some missing DNS settings was causing the problem.

Thank you all for your feedback.

    Good it is solved!

That is why they say that usually the problem with any computer sits between the chair and the keyboard. I guess it applies to the Beomedia too.

If nothing else works - read the manual Whistle I guess this also applies here.
