Yes it is the specific North American Beomaster - I remember Peter freaked out when I flashed the spec with elctrical and service diagragm, Apparently it was one of thiose long elusive manuals Beowarld had been after for some time.

Poor Soren - kind a like owning a car without an engine.

    Leslie:

Bought a beautifull B&O cabinet for demo use of the Serene.

It's a great looking cabinet with a heavy glass top on it and aluminium parts below.

    Inside is a motorized base.

Now finally I can store my Serene and other beauties!

    That is SOOO cool Leslie!!!

My Serene was always on proud display, but not like that! The Serene deserves nothing less.

I've got a chance on one in Eu, Looked at the drawings, as far as I can see the only diff. is the transformator, the US is fixed 120 (2x 60 in)

And the Euro one is 2 x 110 with the selection switch, will this be a problem ??

I woldnt think so if the switch is good. the sets I bought off Thomas were all Euro models and they switched over just fine all I had to do was put new plug on them. One of my CD50's has a voltage switch in the back. Lets see how it goes with your bid but dont bid the farm. Something will turn up here soon - it always does.

The most I ever paid the 5 I own is about 90 and it was the one that worked - sort of. I use to look for the listings that "say unit powers on and plays for a few moments then shuts back down." Got some sweet deals and one bad one.

Thanks Eugene, I think I'm getting to hot here, maybe better wait, the freight from EU is frigging 70 Euros, that alone is 100 US

You will find what you are looking for within the month on our side of the pond. If you were looking at a 1200 or 900k or a 2000 in white I would understand.

As long as I have been watching eBay listing it always seems as though things tend to come in waves, next thing you know the 5000's will be plentiful again.

Just finished re-wiring one of my cube tweeters. Will do the other one tomorrow. This week will hopefully yield an external crossover box.

I want these up and running soon, I miss their sound.

Re: What Are You Working On Now ?

Leslie, they are finished except I decided to re-wire / cross them.

They had a couple problems which prompted this procedure. They didn't have equal output in all the drivers, and one developed a loose solder joint.

I also think my crossover was not the best. I'm going to finally use those caps that Rich sent me, so I can experiment.

Finally had time to finish my 10 glasspanels for the Ouverture/BC2500.

I've let these glaspanels made at the same size and thickness as the original ones with the same dark teint. Made the brackets myself and fixed them on the glaspanels with the proper glue. The right unit on the picture is mine and has chamfered edges. The original on the left has rounded edges. See what the result is and it slides as a whistleWhistleSmile

Thanks my friend! At least now my 5 units can be completed. Next project I'm working on, finished within two weeks, is the Beogram 6000 acrylic cover with the aluminium strip on top of the lid incl. text. Let's see how that will work out!

It is a given tha tit will be a splendid job by Leslie - always is.

So with all the talk lately about Pink Floyds vinyl reisssues I thought I would get out my old playing copy and give the Beomaster 1600 and little workout.

It works really well with a set of S-45 original design.

Great setup Eugene. Never had a Beomaster 1600, looks stylish. Is that a Beogram 4500 next to it?

Pink Floyd, wow! Was a or still am a huge fan, already from the beginning, Ummagumma, Meddle etc. Stopped loosing interest after Dark side of the Moon.

Meddle is probably my favorite Pink Floyd album. My introduction to Pink Floyd was my sister, she had a copy of Atom Mother Heart Suite. Also a favorite of mine.

It is a Beogram 3000 and I think the 1600 is one of the coolest looking of the B&O sets. Very simple electronically. The big problem now is the controls all fail due mostly to failing compression washers in the clutching mechansims and other things associated with the mechanical controls as well. A bit of a labor of love to do one of these things. Some people absolutely hate this Beomaster.
