Re: The Beosystem 3 Owners Thread

    Frog,

I was in the same situation, i can not remember how i got the discreet on and off codes but remember looking at these codes from other products in the same brand.

Maybe try this looking at the code string. Or perhaps Michael from Lintronic may be able to assist.

     Good Luck

Try the discrete on/off codes of the Samsung projector. You find them in the Lintronic-database. They work fine at my son`s Samsung 17M24 LCD TV.

    HI

Just got my BeoSystem 3 setup.Big Smile  I have connect my BS3000 and Mac with the Beoport. Is there a way I can see my Mac on screen while the music is playing? In other words my BS3000 would be play and the BS3 would have the screen up. I would like to see what I'm selecting on my Mac while listening to the music.

    Thanks

    Hi Brendon,

Congratulations on your BeoSystem purchase and welcome to the thread!

I'm not sure on the Beoport setup with the BS3000 and Mac but try adding the AV option to the list button and then when you have the screen displayed hit the AV option from the list and then select the audio source. I have my BS3200 setup in this way which means I can see the TV picture and listen the RADIO/CD/A.MEM.

    Max.

Everyone in this thread has a low amount of posts under their belt, does this mean that the Beosystem 3 is that good, that it is more captivating than Beoworld?! Stick out tongue

Re: The Beosystem 3 Owners Thread

That's a good one!! The BS3 is a great concept and now playing with it the last couple of month I would say there is still some room for improvement :-)

Hopefully the next SW upgrade will fix some of the problems with disturb my relationship to the BS3 every day, but to early to talk about a potential divorce.....

My dealer just upgraded the PUC list for me so I know have my Toshiba HD-DVD controlled by the Beo4. Works without any problem except power on works not always, power off never. It is interesting how important this one remote concept is, even it is nothing special, but now I love my BS3 more than before :-)

I also have the Apple Remote PUC uploaded, but did not receive my AppleTV to test.

An other interesting feature is  if you feed a 4:3 DVD (Eagels Hell Freeze over) via HDMI in 1080p to the BS3 and can not rescale it to 16:9. So I get the anoying black bars on the left and right. I will do some further testing who is the source of the problem, my lovely B&O stuff or this japanese DVD player :-)

    Hi brendon,

it is not possible to see the screen of the Computer where the Beoport is connected to. It is only possible to see the screen if you use the Beomedia.

No system on the market (B&O or not) will allow you to change the format if your input is 1080p HDMI : it considers that the format is already the right one (and that's true, your DVD player is sending a 16:9 signal in 1920x1080p, with the black bars), there is no 1080p signal in 4:3...

So the best way is to send the DVD signal "as is" : not upscaled : the BS3 will do the upscaling, and as it is one of the best upscalers on the market, you will get the best of your DVDs...

If you want the DVD player to upscale, then you have to change the format with the DVD player, not with the BS3 (but the first solution is the best...)

Re: The Beosystem 3 Owners Thread

agree, the only downside that you want the HD-DVD player to send the HD videos in 1080p to the projector, unfortunately the Tosh does not allow to configure two different settings for e.g. DVD and HD-DVD. So you have to go to the menu and change in manually....or get a second DVD player :-)

frog, thanks but the BV4 plasma is not working and i suspect it may be due to a config error, so I need to reset without the on-screen menu.  I was hoping there was a hard-reset button on the Beosystem 3 or a Beo4 procedure?  cheers

Re: The Beosystem 3 Owners Thread - reset query

    Hi,

Sorry for the delay, I've been tied up with some bank holiday weekend DIY. As you are a gold member, it maybe worthwhile downloading the service manual, if you haven't already, at http://www.beoworld.org/manuals_view.asp?pid=863, and the procedure is listed under Adjustment and Repair Tips -> Repair tips -> Reset command.

Can anyone in this thread offer some advice?

I have a Beo3 connected to Beo4 plasma. My STB comes through V-MEM. When I turn it on the 16x9 signal from the STB defaults to Format 1 (4x3) instead of the correct Format 3.

Is there a way to correct this default? (The STB is correctly set t 16x9)

    Bob.

    Frank

Rumour go’s Beosystem 3 new feature will be the possibility to set up the place the viewer actually is in the room. So to speak “where we Beoworlders are enjoying our movies in our own cinema!”.

To adjust the (Dolby) speaker setup. Not sure if it is software only….(who knows?)

A bit like my picture shows, in the premium Audi’s with advanced B&O sound system. Picture shows an Audi A8 at a car show. One can setup All, Driver, Front, Rear etc. (DSP Bang & Olufsen setup)

    Regards, Robert

Re: The Beosystem 3 Owners Thread

Anybody that has a quick solution/not to expensive - to connect the BS3 to a TV that only has VGA and Component input??

I've ordered a DVI-D board to my plasma (have a commercial version with interchangeable boards) - but it's been delayed for 4wks and i can't use my new BS3 except on my 24" computer LCD :( :(

Grant me the serenity to accept the B&O I can't afford
