Annoying "Crack" noice from the Beovision 10-40 cabinet?

I experience a quite annoying sporadic noise that probably comes from the cabinet.

It´s easily described as a "small plastic sounding crack noice", similar that I recall one could hear from the plastic cabinet movements when the old CRT TV:s got warm.

It sometimes appear quite soon after switching on the set, and sometimes after like 45 minutes of operation. Once it appear, it "cracks" now and then during e.g. a TV evening.

It´s clearly not from the loudspeaker and its sounds like the cabinets "moves" after its being warmed up.

Has any other BV10 owner experienced this, or are your sets completely silent (apart form the fan)?

    /Claes

    I had a similar issue with a BeoSound 1.

I took it back and requested a refund. It's not what you expect from a quality brand.

Anyone else have these types of sounds from the BV10?

Yes, mine did that. Not a huge deal - I agree sounds like something expanding. Mine was on a floor stand.

My wall mounted BV4-50 "cracks" quite frequently. I would also agree the cause to be expansion/contraction

    of cabinet.

There's a solution for the "cracking" on BV 4 and BV 10, just ask to your dealer Wink

Just talked to my local dealer, and it is a known issue, i also experience it with my BV4-50", and there is some strips/tape thingy available to the delaers as fix, and i have just told my dealer to get it and install it in my tv, and it is all payed for by B&O :)

Contact you dealer, it is unacceptable with that cracking noise.

Well, on the back of my BV 10-40 there's a sticker that says : Country of Origin Denmark.

The glue must be danish then !

BTW, I don't know if BV7 is B & O "flagship", but I know It certainly also has a lot of issues.

On the two BV 10 I had, a small cracking noise appeared and disappeared depending on the SW version update (build 127 was without craking noise, build 126 was with it).

I now have build 153 plus the extra anti-cracking noise aluminium plate (serious !) installed on the back of the screen.

I now only hear a crack once in a while, like on every TV, my MX or Avant did a wee crack sometimes...

    Cheers,

    Gregory

    Thanks Gregory,

Did the dealer install this aluminium plate on your existing set? Did they have to take the TV to a repair shop to do it?

    Hi,

One technician did it at home.

First, unscrew the anti reflect screen (4 screws) and take it off.

Second, unscrew the Samsung screen (yes you can read the brand on it).

Fird, screw the "special aluminium plate" on the holes waiting for it and glue two "special processors plastic squares".

Four, put everything back (be carefull with dust or finger prints under screen) and be surprised how cool the back of your BV10 now is !

    It was quick and easy.

    Cheers,

    Gregory

    Thanks Gregory,

Slightly off topic, but since you mentioned removing the screen above: Is it possible to add "anti reflect" afterwards? I ordered mine without anti reflect screen and I regret that a bit now.

Awesome. My dealer have confirmed that my BV10 shall be fixed. I´m waiting the technician to call to make an appointment.

In one of the posts above, something more techy is described, rather than this "foam tape".

Wonder how they will fix my TV Wink

Re: Annoying "Crack" noice from the Beovision 10-40 cabinet?

Bumping my old thread up, for information.

As I have told in this thread, I had my BV10 retrofitted to fix heat related noices form the cabinet.

The retrofit helped a lot, but there are still sporadic "cracks" or "click" noices from the cabinet especially during the first two hours of viewing.

My dealer has been very helpful in finding solutions and driving the case towards Struer.

My dealer says he have sold a lot of BV10s but no other customer have reported any problems like that.

Struer have said that they have one other customer case where they have not been able to cure the problem with the retrofit that was made on my set. They now say that they will have a solution for me within 3-4 weeks.

If that does not cure the problem, my set will be replaced under warranty.
