Make a piece of square 10-12 Mm. aluminum, hole for shaft to fit, and in the buttom of the piece a 4 or 5 Mm threaded hole, fasten piece from below with 4 or 5 Mm screw with washer.

Re: Beogram 7000 tone arm assembly not moving
The problem here is that the end of the rod should be positioned exactly, so fabricating a new holder will be difficult or at least time consuming without a good set of tools.
Since the other half of the original clip is still there, I would still try the hot glue method; just hold the rod in place until the glue sets. If this doesn't work, it takes about one minute to revert, and you can then try the spare clip from Martin.

In Hong Kong they copy Rolex, Georg Jensen and who knows what, to copy a crap piece of plastic you only need a mec. work shop or mecanic he will do it on his lunch break for 10 HK $, or Remimbin or what they use these days

Ha, ha, ha. True but this piece of plastic clip is not worth the effort of the copycats. :) The minimum wage in Hong Kong will be HK$28 starting in May so prices of the forgeries will be going up. ;) :) I will have to go across the border to the PRC to get it done cheaply after May. Ha, ha, ha.

Re: Beogram 7000 tone arm assembly not moving
Dear All,
After much further procrastination [mainly because of being intimidated by the unknown], I have re-assembled my BG7000. The tonearm carriage moves the full length of travel when pushed manually. However, the deck does not function.
I now have the following problems:
1. when I removed the MMC 2, the tone arm raised up. After re-installing the MMC 2, the tone arm is not parallel to the deck. Rather, the tone arm is pointing downwards with the MMC 2 touching the deck. I tried the "Lift" button out of desperation but that effort failed.
2. The tonearm carriage still does not move automatically whether or not there is a record on the platter.
What did I do wrong? What should I do now?
Apologies for all the questions. Thanks in advance for the advice.
Yours,
Wings

Re: Beogram 7000 tone arm assembly not moving
There's this white plastic bar, alongside the rear metal rail of the carriage, that should flip and take care of lowering and raising the tone arm. It has a tiny return spring at one end (the side of the deck as I recall) and it can easily slip out.
Another possibility is that while installing the arm carriage, you have placed the aforementioned bar on the wrong side of the lever that controls the tone arm.
Don't try operating the deck until this is sorted. The arm should be horizontal when the mechanism is in the stop position.
EDIT: the spring is actually visible in your last picture on the previous page, top right third in a recess in the bottom plate. It should pull the white bar so that it stays against the steel wire control rod (coming from the gear mechanism) on the other end of the white bar.

Re: Beogram 7000 tone arm assembly not moving
Hi, Mika.
I have checked the BG7000. Things were as pictured until I touched the little spring while testing the connect. It has now become detached from the white plastic thing. What should I be doing now? There does not appear to be a hook on the white plastic to attach the spring.

I will try to post photos of the current situation this weekend [or Monday if I have trouble uploading the photos].
Thanks.

Re: Beogram 7000 tone arm assembly not moving
This is all from memory and it's hard to tell from the photos, but I
believe the peg that should hold the spring is still here. There's not
much of a hook to speak of, and that's why the spring is so eager to
slip out.
Also, to me it seems the bar has flipped too far to the
back, which won't help in keeping the spring in place. How is the
control rod at the other end? Is it going to pull the bar towards the
mechanism (the center of the deck, against the force of this small
spring) or is it currently on the wrong side of it?

Thanks for the comment. I do not know but will try to take more photos to show you.
In the meantime, here (hopefully) are some better photos.

Re: Beogram 7000 tone arm assembly not moving
These are good pics. As far as I can see, everything is still there. Just put the spring back in place around the round peg in the white plastic whateveritis. (takes a bit more time than saying it)
What about the other end with the control rod?

Here are some more photos. I tried to get 360 degree coverage in the following photos in order to make diagnosis easier.
