Beoport IR eye controlled with Beo4
Hi dear members,
Have a Beoport which I want to control with my Beo4 remote. What IR eye (puck) type do I need since I think there are several types?
Thanks! Leslie

The BeoPort puck has no inscriptions; the BeoLink Active/Wireless puck has the words "PLAY", "TIMER" and the symbols "v" and "^" on it.
First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Well there are at least two types of pucks.
But only the one with the blank face is the BeoPort's.
I am not sure of their part numbers ... sorry.
I have checked my PDFs including the Service Manual but there are no clues there.
Perhaps the PRODUCT section of Beoworld or Beotech might have them.

Hard to tell from the fuzzy photo, but it looks like the "eye" does not have writing nor a light ... so it could very well be the addition you are looking for !

Difficult to see on that picture. As you know there are two different link-eye models.
The correct one for BeoPort has partnumber 8087030 and has 2 unlabled buttons. The standard IR eye has 4 labled buttons (timer, up, down and play)

Re: Beoport IR eye controlled with Beo4
It doesn't make any difference which one you want to use.
Both types are suitable. The main function for the ir-eye is to receive the ir-instructions from the remote and send the data through the lead to the beoport.
The one with the buttons can be used, but only the buttons itself will not work.

I know it is an old thread but I don't want to start a new one.
How is the wiring for the IR eye? They are some colors but I don't know where to connect.
Thank you
